Haitian Flag Day Selebrasyon!
About the Event
Haitian Flag Day Selebrasyon
You're invited to celebrate Haiti! Come explore Haitian music, food, beverages, and art all while supporting a Haitian-owned business in the heart of Austin, TX.
Fanm Djanm ("strong woman" in Haitian Kreyol) was founded in 2014 by Paola Mathé as a collection of head wraps. Our store is a space for community gatherings that uplift the work of the BIPOC community. During this afternoon of celebration, enjoy headwrap styling with Paola herself, and taste delicious Haitian cuisine from Chef Nahika Tillery at Kreyol Korner and Cook Unity. There will also be a special musical performance by Metrès Riva Nyri Précil.
In celebration of Haitian Heritage Month, 10% of purchases made in our physical store from the evening will be donated to Bati School, a Haiti-based organization that is working to organically grow Haiti’s future through Farm-funded education.
Limited parking is available on site. Additional paid parking is available next door at P3040 Bouldin Creek. Rideshare is highly encouraged.
