About the Farm
Background
Located east of Lake Ontario, the farm benefits from the 'lake effect' zone, which provides an ideal environment for grass farming. With over 650 acres of meadows and pastures, the farm has established itself as a reliable source of high-quality grass-fed lamb and beef.
Practices
The farm employs rotational grazing to manage its land efficiently, ensuring that the pastures remain healthy and productive. All winter feed is harvested as hay and grass silage. The farm avoids the use of chemical fertilizers and herbicides, relying instead on natural rainfall, cool summers, and water-holding soils to grow excellent forages. The sun provides all the energy required to sustain farm operations.
The Rest
Home to more than 500 Dorper-Croix hair sheep and 125 Angus cattle, the farm offers lamb without the wool lanolin taste and high-quality Angus beef. All products are USDA inspected, custom cut, and vacuum packaged. Customers can purchase cows by the whole, half, or split quarters, and lamb by the whole. Orders can be arranged for delivery within the northern New York region, with nationwide shipping also available. Farm pick-up is always welcome.
