About the Farm
Background
Since 2011, this small-scale CSA has been growing on various urban lots and backyards in Minneapolis, as well as on one acre 60 miles outside of the Twin Cities. 2017 marks their 6th year of operation, providing bi-weekly shares of vegetables and herbs from mid-June to mid-October.
Practices
The farm employs resilience-based, sustainable, and organic growing methods, incorporating permaculture and polyculture plantings to revitalize and replenish the land. They create habitats for pollinators and beneficial insects throughout their gardens. Although not certified organic, they adhere strictly to organic growing practices.
The Rest
CSA shares are distributed every other week, with pick-up options in South Minneapolis. Each share includes a 3/4 bushel box of vegetables and herbs, along with a farm newsletter featuring photos and recipes. The farm offers sliding scale prices for shares to ensure healthy food access for people from all economic backgrounds.
