About the Farm
Background
In the early 1960s, Doug and Evelyn Underwood purchased 65 acres on Buffalo Road in what is now known as Bellevue. This land became the site of Buffalo Road Produce, where the Underwood family, spanning multiple generations, contributes to the farm's operations. Doug Underwood also founded the Westview Community Newspaper in 1978 and had a deep passion for gardening, which he passed down through the family. The farm began selling their produce to the public in 2007.
Practices
The farm emphasizes growing all-natural foods, cultivating a variety of vegetables such as squash, tomatoes, beans, melons, herbs, and greens. They also raise free-range chickens for eggs and maintain beehives for honey production.
The Rest
In addition to vegetables, the farm offers flowers and other natural items.
