About the Farm
Background
The farm is known for its delicious, fresh, and unpasteurized raw goat milk, as well as a variety of aged raw goat milk farmstead artisan cheeses such as General's Choice, General's Caraway, and Creekside. The goats are Room-to-Grow Alpine Dairy Goats, which are tested negative for all major goat diseases, ensuring the health and quality of the milk and cheese products.
Practices
The Alpine Dairy Goats live outdoors on rotated pasture and are fed a whole grain mix that includes oats, barley, corn, sunflower seeds, kelp, yeast, probiotics, and minerals, with free choice hay consisting of local clover and orchard grass mix. The farm strictly avoids soy, GMOs, antibiotics, chemical wormers, and hormones. Herbs and essential oils are used for worming and treatment. The farm participates in DHIA testing to monitor production levels and in Linear Appraisal to grade each animal's conformation.
The Rest
Goat buck kids and doe kids are available for sale as pets, for show, or for milk production. The farm is open 7 days a week during daylight hours, and farm tours are available.
