About the Farm
Background
Cascade Valley Heritage Farm focuses on the preservation of heritage and rare breeds of livestock that no longer fit into conventional agriculture and are in danger of extinction. The farm supports family farms and farmsteads while maintaining an eco-centric focus.
Practices
Animals are raised with access to sunshine and grass, embodying a natural and humane approach. Laying hens roam 3 acres of pasture, enjoying a non-GMO, corn-free, soybean-free diet, supplemented with free-choice calcium. The farm's diverse flock includes breeds such as Salmon Faverolle, Sebright, Delaware, and Rhode Island Red, among others. A Regenerative Land Management plan is being developed to build soil, sequester carbon, and promote wildlife.
The Rest
The farm raises chickens, turkeys, guinea fowl, ducks, quail, and Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats. They hold a CDFA Egg Handler's License: CA-4796.
