About the Farm

Background

Clan Stewart Farm, one of Pennsylvania’s few remaining Bicentennial Farms, has a long-standing tradition of producing fresh, nutritious, and healthy food for the local community. Located about 18 miles south of State College in Central Pennsylvania, the farm has become known for its commitment to local food supply and environmental protection.

Practices

The farm raises vegetables without the use of pesticides or herbicides and produces hormone- and antibiotic-free grass-fed poultry and beef. Their pastured Shorthorn beef, lamb, and pork are processed by an FDA-inspected butcher shop, quick frozen, and sold by the pound. Pasture-raised chickens are available during the summer months, heritage-breed turkeys are offered at Thanksgiving and Christmas, and fresh brown eggs are produced year-round.

The Rest

Clan Stewart Farm sells its produce, eggs, and meats at the Boalsburg Farmer's Market on Tuesday afternoons and at the Huntingdon Farmers Market on Thursday afternoons. They also offer a Community Supported Agriculture Program (CSA), providing members with a share of the farm's produce for a 20-week season. Applications for the CSA are available on their website.
