About the Farm

Background

Clover Meadows Beef is a fifth generation family farm located outside of St. Louis, Missouri. Matt Hardecke, a fifth-generation cattle farmer, bought his first cow at the age of nine and has been growing his herd ever since. The farm has received numerous accolades, including the 2016 St. Louis County Farm Family Award and the 2019 Missouri Governor's Farm Innovation Award. The farm has also been featured in various media outlets such as RFD TV's 'This Week in Agribusiness', St. Louis Post Dispatch, Missouri Beef Cattleman magazine, and Missouri Business News magazine.

Practices

Clover Meadows Beef employs rotational grazing to ensure their cattle always have fresh pasture. They have committed to never using herbicides, fungicides, or artificial growth hormones. As a cow-calf farm, all calves are born and raised on the farm. The farm also emphasizes transparency and simplicity in their pricing, which includes USDA processing and packaging, as well as free delivery to convenient pick-up locations throughout the St. Louis area.

The Rest

Clover Meadows Beef offers both grass-finished and grain-finished beef, allowing customers to choose their preference. The farm provides all-inclusive pricing to make the purchasing process straightforward, avoiding terms like 'hanging weight' and 'carcass weight'. They also offer farm-to-door delivery for an additional fee. The farm is active in the agriculture community and has been featured in multiple media outlets. They also engage with customers through email newsletters, sharing farm updates, beef availability, and recipes.
