About the Farm
Background
For over 25 years, this farm has been growing produce, pastured pork, grass-fed beef, and pastured eggs. Their produce and eggs are available year-round at the Lincoln food coop (Open Harvest) and their eggs can also be found year-round at Natural Grocers and The Mercato in Lincoln, NE. The farm hosts tours and workshops for a wide range of visitors, including extension educators, farmers, foreign diplomats, and pre-schoolers.
Practices
The farm employs certified organic and Biodynamic farming methods. Their cattle are 100% grass-fed and grazed, supplemented in winter with hay feed. The hogs are farrowed on pasture, kept in rotation on pasture, and fed a custom organic ration along with vegetable field scraps from their own Biodynamic fields.
The Rest
Located just 15 miles northwest of downtown Lincoln, Nebraska, the farm offers on-farm produce, pop-ups, plant sales, and other offerings. Pork is available mid-summer 2023, and beef will be available in April 2024. Updated information can be found on their website.
