About the Farm

Background

Established in 2012, Common Ground CSA is a collaboration between Jeff Savitsky of Lake Hayward Farm and Jess Stone of Cold Spring Farm. The partnership was formed to better serve the residents of East Haddam, Colchester, and neighboring towns by combining their agricultural expertise and resources.

Practices

CSA members purchase food shares in advance of the growing season, helping to offset the initial costs of farming. Shares are picked up weekly during the growing season, ensuring a steady supply of fresh, seasonal produce.

The Rest

Shareholders pick up their shares on Tuesdays and Fridays from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Lake Hayward Farm. The CSA operates from late May through mid-October, with shares needing to be renewed annually before the growing season begins.
