About the Farm
Background
Started in 1995, the 5-acre vineyard includes five wine grape varietals and rows of olive trees interspersed among the grapevines. Located at the foot of the Sierra Madre Mountains in Santa Barbara County, the vineyard is known for producing full-bodied, bold, and complex wines while conserving water and protecting the environment.
Practices
The vineyard employs traditional dry-farming practices, head-pruning the vines and training the olive trees for hand picking. This method, which does not use irrigated water, allows the full essence of the grape varietals to come through in every sip of wine. The farming philosophy respects and protects the natural surroundings, with a focus on agroecology principles.
The Rest
The vineyard is located among blue oaks and chaparral, with wildlife such as deer, coyotes, bobcats, and rabbits. Condors, North America's largest flying land bird, soar once again in the mountains above the vineyard, symbolizing the farm's environmental care. The farm also offers a wine club, community events, and direct marketing through their webpage and farmers' markets. Visitors can join in harvests, taste wines, and participate in events like yoga weekends and wine tastings.
