About the Farm
Background
Established in 2001, Cooley Family Farm began when Kevin and Tracy purchased a few acres near Lafayette, Indiana. The 6-acre farm started with a house and a barn built in 1901, and has since grown into a productive family-run operation managed by Kevin, Tracy, and their two children, Trae and Lacie.
Practices
To improve soil health, the farm employs cover crops, compost, crop rotation, natural rock-based minerals, and OMRI approved amendments. The high density multi-rotational cropping system allows for maximizing the use of their limited land without the need for additional hired help.
The Rest
The farm produces a diverse array of products including honey, strawberries, asparagus, pumpkins, raspberries, corn, tomatoes, green beans, cucumbers, potatoes, beets, carrots, cabbage, squash, and rhubarb.
