About the Farm
Background
Covered-L Farm has been in the cattle business since 1992 and transitioned to raising 100% grassfed beef in 2007. They are known for providing flavorful, healthy, and nutritious beef to mid-Missouri customers while maintaining sustainability standards.
Practices
The farm uses no antibiotics, pesticides, herbicides, or growth hormones. Their cattle, primarily Red Angus/Hereford with some full-blood South Polls, graze on high-quality pastures throughout the year and are supplemented with excellent hay when necessary. They test a small portion of each beeve for tenderness and flavor, ensuring only the best cuts are available for customers.
The Rest
Covered-L Farm offers halves, split halves, and whole beeves year-round. Individual packages of their USDA inspected beef are available at Clovers Natural Markets and the West Broadway and Nifong Hy-Vee stores in Columbia, MO, as well as at the farm and during Wednesday deliveries in Columbia. They do not ship their products. Covered-L Farm is part of Covered-L Associates, which includes independent cooperating partners Brush & Trouble Farm (seasonal pastured pork and chicken) and Brooks Farm (100% grassfed lamb).
