About the Farm

Background

Located near the start of the Middlefork River, southeast of Paxton, IL, Cow Creek Organic Farm is a small family farm owned and operated by Jeff and Rita Glazik along with their four children. The farm's journey into organic farming began in 2002, driven by an interest in sustainable farming practices. Many of the farm's current products originated as 4-H and FFA projects for the children.

Practices

The farm employs organic farming methods, feeding all animals organic forages and grains without growth hormones, antibiotics, or other additives. A rotational pasture system is used to ensure cattle have access to fresh air and grass, while poultry and pigs are housed in portable pens. The farm is currently expanding its rotational pastures to support a larger cow/calf herd and meet the demand for 100% grass-fed cattle.

The Rest

The farm grows a variety of grains including corn, soybeans, wheat, oats, and forage alongside pastureland. Family, conservation, and sustainability are key components of the farm's philosophy, with a focus on preserving the land for future generations and producing healthy, quality products.
