About the Farm
Background
Crazy Daisy has been a CSA farm since 1994, run by Sandy and Jim Lonto, who have lived on the land since 1980. The farm has been in Sandy's family for generations, with her father and grandfather farming it before her. The farm serves the local community of Corcoran, Hamel, Maple Grove, and neighboring areas.
Practices
Crazy Daisy employs organic farming methods, avoiding harsh pesticides and herbicides. They manage most problems with compost, mulches, and row covers. The farm hand washes and bags produce on the day of harvest to ensure clean, healthy vegetables. Although not certified organic, the farm's long history allows them to know the land's usage since the 1950s.
The Rest
Members are notified by email of the anticipated weekly harvest and can make special requests through the farm's online store. The farm offers bumper crops for freezing, canning, or preserving at no extra cost. Main harvests occur on Tuesday mornings, with flexible pick-up arrangements available. The farm is temporarily smaller, expecting 15-20 members this season.
