About the Farm
Background
Established in 1952 by Earl and Alice Crea, who moved from Idaho to Republic, Washington, the ranch began as a prosperous cattle operation. After retiring in the early nineties, they sold their herd to a neighbor. The legacy continued through the management of pastures and timber. In 2012, after the passing of Earl, the family re-entered the cattle business with a new approach, purchasing their first registered beefalo.
Practices
The ranch emphasizes natural livestock management, avoiding growth hormones, antibiotics, grain, and animal by-products. They prioritize gentle handling, meticulous genetic selection, and skillful stockmanship. The cattle are raised in a stress-free environment, spending winters in Benton City and summers in the Ferry County mountain range, thriving on high-mountain grasses and spring-fed waters.
The Rest
The ranch is a full-circle operation, caring for cattle through every phase of their lives. Steers designated for meat production are transported to a USDA-certified facility in Odessa, ensuring their well-being throughout the process. The ethos of the ranch revolves around compassionate care, enduring values, and exceptional quality.
