About the Farm
Background
Located in the foothills of the coast range outside of Forest Grove, Oregon, this farm has been operated by David and Lori Hoyle since 2000. Known for their high quality produce, they specialize in open pollinated, heirloom, and European varieties chosen for their superior flavor. The farm began offering produce to local families through a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program in 2009. Last year marked a significant milestone as they moved to a new piece of property, supported by their community of CSA members, family, restaurant customers, and friends.
Practices
All crops are Certified Organic by Oregon Tilth. The farm focuses on growing a wide variety of vegetables, some fruits, and culinary herbs, with careful attention to harvesting fresh from the fields. The produce is washed, packed, and delivered to neighborhood pick-up sites, ensuring a true farm-to-fork experience. The diversity of crops reflects the changing seasons, from cool weather crops in the spring and fall to the abundant bounty of summer.
The Rest
CSA members receive weekly shares of produce for 25 weeks from June through November, with boxes delivered on Wednesdays to neighborhood pick-up sites throughout Portland. Weekly emailed newsletters provide updates from the farm, information about the crops in the boxes, and recipes. The farm's vegetables are featured at some of the finest nationally recognized restaurants in Portland, including Paley's Place, Clark Lewis, Beast, Le Pigeon, and many others.
