About the Farm
Background
Located in the rolling hills of south-central Pennsylvania near historic Gettysburg, this farm has carved out a niche in the sheep market, catering to both the Muslim trade and auction markets. Most of their sales occur in January each year.
Practices
The farm operates on a 100% grazing system, with sheep on pasture throughout the year. Lambing is scheduled for early spring to take advantage of lush spring growth. All lambs are raised and finished on grass. Ram lambs are kept 'uncut' and moved to a separate pasture once they reach about four months old.
