About the Farm
Background
Deep Root Gardens began its journey in 2012 after a year of apprenticeship on another local farm and participation in the Farm Beginnings program through Dakota Rural Action. Located 15 miles south of Sioux Falls, the farm quickly became known for its commitment to quality and fresh produce.
Practices
The farm adheres to organic principles, despite not being certified organic due to its size and the cost of certification. They avoid the use of pesticides and herbicides, focusing instead on producing fresh, high-quality vegetables.
