About the Farm
Background
Tom and Denise began by transitioning a conventional orchard to organic, achieving certification in 2006. The farm has grown to include 50 acres of apples, 10 acres of blueberries, and 25 acres of various other fruits and vegetables. Over the years, the farm has expanded its community with dedicated employees and CSA members, and now includes their daughter-in-law Liza and grandchildren Zain and Tala.
Practices
Adhering to the standards of the National Organic Program, the farm focuses on plant health and vitality to produce nutritious and great-tasting fruit. Transparency in farming practices is emphasized for the safety and peace of mind of customers, as well as to educate other growers. The farm advocates for strengthening the organic system and maintains a commitment to organic principles and sustainability.
The Rest
The farm offers certified organic U-Pick opportunities for apples, strawberries, and transitional blueberries. They produce fresh apple cider and other apple products, and invite customers to join their 3-month Apple CSA. An annual harvest festival in late September/early October features live music, hay rides, food, and drink. The farm also hosts various activities throughout the year, including camping under the stars in the orchard.
