About the Farm

Background

Located west of Ann Arbor, this small family farm has dedicated itself to producing ethically raised food. Known for their pasture-raised heritage chicken, heritage pastured pork, free-range pastured eggs, pastured ducks and geese, and 100% grass-fed and pasture-raised lamb and beef, they have become a trusted source for high-quality, ethically produced food.

Practices

The farm employs regenerative agriculture techniques, focusing on improving soil and farm ecosystem health. Animals are rotationally grazed to lock carbon in the soil, feed soil microbes, and allow pastures to rest for about 35 days before animals return. No pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers are used. In 2019, two large solar arrays were installed, providing 100% of the farm's electricity needs and reducing its environmental impact.

The Rest

The farm grows a wide variety of beyond organic vegetables during the summer months. They value customer relationships and encourage visits, usually opening one weekend day for a few hours. Visitors can join the email list for notifications about open farm hours and follow the farm on Facebook.
