About the Farm
Background
The family's relationship with food began to shift during their ten years living on a sailboat, island-hopping from one remote spot to another. In 2016, they decided to return to land and purchased a farm to raise chickens, keep bees, and cultivate a garden. In 2021, they found a larger property in Okeechobee, Florida, complete with a herd of beef cattle. Inspired by Gabe Brown's teachings on regenerative agriculture, they began implementing these techniques and saw promising results.
Practices
Using regenerative farming practices, the farm improves soil quality through adaptive grazing techniques and planting cover crops. These methods prevent overgrazing and enrich the soil, leading to healthier grasses and animals. The focus is on cultivating healthy soil teeming with diverse forage to foster contented animals and deliver a more nutritious end product.
The Rest
