About the Farm
Background
The journey with goats began for the health benefits of raw milk, particularly when the owner's grandson couldn't process available formulas. Over time, the farm expanded to produce cheese, kefir, yogurt, ice cream, and soaps, all while maintaining a focus on the health and happiness of their animals. Licensed with the State of Florida, the farm ensures that all products are sold for pet consumption only.
Practices
The goats are fed a diet of perennial peanut hay, Tifton 44, grain mixture, black oil sunflower seeds, shredded beet pulp, and a variety of special minerals offered free choice. Holistic medicine is practiced whenever possible, with a natural herbal de-wormer program in place. The farm emphasizes cleanliness, regularly disinfecting the barn and ensuring fresh water is available. They also adhere to strict health protocols, testing negative for CAE, Johne's disease, Q fever, and toxoplasmosis.
The Rest
The farm sells milk in new dairy-approved gallon jugs and offers a variety of cheeses, including chevre and cheddar, for pet consumption only as per Florida state law. They also produce homemade goat milk soaps. The farm is committed to breeding goats for dairy strength, longevity, productivity, and sweet temperament, ensuring their animals lead long, healthy lives.
