About the Farm
Background
The Flagstaff CSA began in 2002 as a project led by Northern Arizona University students with the assistance of professors and administrators. Initially, a Phoenix-area farmer delivered produce shares to members weekly. By 2009, the CSA had moved into its current location on Cottage Avenue. Over the years, dedicated volunteers, members, and customers have helped shape the CSA into a thriving community resource.
Practices
Flagstaff CSA partners with farmers, ranchers, and food producers across the state to provide a variety of seasonal produce, protein, dairy, pantry essentials, and flowers. The CSA emphasizes the importance of supporting local farmers who act as stewards of the land, promoting agricultural practices that replenish and restore the environment. This commitment to local sourcing ensures that food is ethically produced and contributes to a sustainable food system.
The Rest
Flagstaff CSA operates from October to June, offering three twelve-week seasons: fall, winter, and spring. During the summer, members are encouraged to support the Flagstaff Community Farmers' Market. The CSA accepts SNAP/EBT for in-store and online purchases, and offers additional benefits through the Double Up Food Bucks program. Customers can shop in-store, online a la carte, or through a weekly subscription, with options for home delivery.
