Flyway Family Farm

Located in the heart of the Shawnee Hills and surrounded by Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge, Flyway Family Farm has established itself as a provider of gourmet mushrooms and beyond organic vegetables. The farm offers its produce year-round through various local markets and a CSA program known as 'shroom shares'.

The farm prioritizes the health and happiness of its plants, fungi, animals, and soils through permaculture principles. Rotational grazing is employed using large paddocks along with mobile pens for chickens, rabbits, and hogs, ensuring a harmonious and regenerative farming system.

Gourmet mushrooms from the farm are available year-round directly on the farm, at the Carbondale Community Farmers Market, the Neighborhood Co-Op in Carbondale, and through local chefs at Toms Place in Desoto. During the growing season, the farm also participates in the outdoor Carbondale Farmers Market.
