About the Farm
Background
The farm has been in the same family since it was homesteaded in 1819 by William Moore. In the 1940s, J.C. and Charlie Webb gained recognition in the cattle business as the Webb Brothers. In 1972, Charles Holmes returned from Auburn University to apprentice under his uncles, and now his two youngest sons, Webb and Cooper, are sixth-generation farmers working the same land.
Practices
Cattle graze on forages in Perry County, Alabama, on some of the richest soil in the Southeast. They are raised without growth hormones or antibiotics, and the meat is processed and packaged one at a time to ensure it comes from a single source.
The Rest
The farm also offers custom lumber cutting services, including flooring, siding, and firewood. They provide various types of wood such as Pine, Oak, Poplar, Walnut, Cedar, Mock Orange, and Cypress. Additionally, they offer sawmill slabs for carpentry work and gift items like cutting boards, serving platters, and picture frames.
