About the Farm

Background

Ford Farm, situated on Sauvie Island just northwest of Portland, has become known for its Normandy-style dry, sparkling hard cider crafted from apples grown on the farm. In addition to their cider production, the Fords have diversified their agricultural endeavors by raising Highland cattle.

Practices

The farm eschews the use of growth hormones, antibiotics, and steroids in their cattle rearing. Instead, the Highland cattle are allowed to graze on natural pasture and are supplemented with alfalfa hay and natural mineral supplements.

The Rest

Located just 20 minutes northwest of Portland, the farm offers a unique combination of cider production and cattle raising, providing visitors with a glimpse into diverse agricultural practices.
