About the Farm

Background

In the spring of 2003, the farm began on a few rented acres in Manhattan, Montana, and transitioned to their own land in 2008. By 2017, they had acquired Rocky Creek Farm, expanding to 57 acres. Over the years, they have built a strong presence in the Bozeman community, supplying local restaurants, the Community Food Coop, and various farmers' markets.

Practices

The farm employs crop rotation, cover crops, underseeding, beneficial insect-attracting plants, and composted manure to maintain and improve soil fertility and manage pests and diseases. They use greenhouses and mobile high tunnels to extend the growing season and support cold and warm weather crop production. Certified organic by the Montana Department of Agriculture, they integrate animals into their farming system to graze crop residue and contribute to soil fertility.

The Rest

The farm operates a year-round farm stand offering vegetables, pork, chicken, lamb, and U-pick berries and apples. They also host seasonal activities such as school tours, a pumpkin patch, fresh cider pressing, and hay wagon rides. The CSA programs include summer, winter, and Whole Farm options, and they deliver to wholesale accounts multiple times a week.
