Galloping Winds Ranch

Galloping Winds Ranch is located on the fringe of the Texas Hill Country, operated by Rob and Teresa Barr-Jones. Known for their quality livestock, the ranch has carved out a niche in raising Scottish Highland cattle, Nubian dairy goats, and Great Pyrenees dogs. The ranch prides itself on maintaining a small, select fold of purebred Scottish Highland cattle and a herd of Nubian dairy goats from proven milking lines.

The ranch focuses on breeding Scottish Highland cattle, a gentle-natured and hardy breed known for high-quality beef and rich milk production. These cattle are slow maturing, resulting in fine-textured and succulent meat. The ranch also engages in crossbreeding Highlands with Angus and other breeds to enhance meat quality. Nubian dairy goats are bred for milk production, conformation, and distinctive colors and spots. Great Pyrenees dogs are raised as livestock guardians and pets, known for their protective nature.

The ranch offers livestock for sale but does not harvest cattle. They periodically have high-quality calves, Nubian goat kids, and Great Pyrenees pups available. Reservations for goat kids are accepted as soon as they arrive. Visitors are encouraged to check the website for pictures and information about the breeding herd and new arrivals.
