About the Farm
Background
Susan started Release Ministries in 2009 with the intent to change the culture through youth and young adult ministry. In 2014, the entire operation moved to far northeast Texas, transforming into a farm-based ministry called the Grove at GlenHaven Farm. The farm has grown from a backyard garden to a 44-acre property with a variety of animals and a 3000 square foot garden. The farm is a place for spiritual encouragement, Biblical teaching, and practical help for living a life of faith.
Practices
The farm employs sustainable methods and emphasizes the importance of getting back to the basics of life. They raise animals on pasture, drink raw milk from their Jersey cow, and use compost bins, weeding, and digging as teaching tools. The farm focuses on cooking from scratch with whole organic foods, continually learning and improving their practices.
The Rest
The on-site farm store, Eggcetera, offers handmade items including organic skincare products, repurposed farm decor, fruit preserves, and pickles. Special order items include kombucha and a 2-day rise sourdough artisan bread. The farm also offers tours by appointment, which can be topped off with a pint of fresh Jersey milk. The farm's inspirational blog and social media posts keep friends connected to farm life, and at-risk youth are transformed into 'Farm Ninjas' through their programs.
