About the Farm
Background
Gravatt's gardening program began in 2009 with a few small garden boxes and a lot of hope, producing a modest basket of tomatoes in its first season. By 2014, with the help of a grant from the United Thank Offering, donor support, and dedicated staff, the gardens expanded into Camp Gravatt Farms, yielding over 4,300 pounds of food.
Practices
The farm grows a variety of vegetables including zucchini, squash, okra, tomatoes, greens, cantaloupe, watermelon, and peppers, all picked daily to ensure freshness. The kitchen staff works year-round to preserve a significant amount of food, allowing guests to enjoy fresh vegetables and soups throughout the year.
The Rest
Gravatt is a Fresh on the Menu member and its produce is Certified SC. Fresh vegetables, baked goods, and casseroles can be purchased directly from Gravatt by calling or visiting their online store. Additionally, Gravatt foods are available for pick up at Aiken Organics, Aiken Yoga, and the Edgefield General Store.
