About the Farm
Background
Shawn, raised on Minnesota’s Iron Range, developed a love for farming early on, particularly for Scottish Highland cattle. In 2011, he began his farming journey with haying and soon started his own fold of grass-fed Highland cattle. Over the years, he expanded his herd to include Galloway and Angus genetics, aiming to produce superior products. Stacie, who grew up on the farm, always preferred holistic and simplistic farming methods over 'big ag' practices. Together, they have built a farm that reflects their passion for high-quality, nutritious food and sustainable agriculture.
Practices
The farm employs rotational grazing and has planted diverse fields to benefit both the animals and the environment. They are committed to being soy-free, corn-free, non-GMO, and do not use antibiotics or hormones. Their approach to farming is deeply rooted in the belief that working with nature and the animals creates a healthy ecosystem, resulting in nutrient-dense food. They also focus on holistic practices to maintain the health of their soil, plants, and animals.
The Rest
Visitors are encouraged to explore the U-Pick flower field and farm store, which offers organic vegetables, beef, pork, chickens, ducks, and other unique items. The farm also runs a Meat CSA Program with metro deliveries available. Farm visits are welcome by appointment, providing an opportunity to see firsthand the farm's commitment to humane and regenerative farming practices.
