About the Farm

Background

Grazeland Farms has been inspired by the innovative methods of Joel Salatin and Polyface Farms, aiming to scale up pasture egg production to reach a wider audience. The farm is known for its commitment to providing healthy, pasture-raised eggs and has been expanding its market reach to include local stores and supermarkets.

Practices

Hens are raised cage-free and are provided with fresh pasture daily. Mobile hen houses are moved by Amish employees using draft horses, following the Feathernet and Eggmobile systems developed by Joel Salatin. These practices ensure that the chickens have access to fresh forage and contribute to soil health through natural fertilization.

The Rest

Visitors are welcome to tour the farm from Monday to Friday to see the farming practices firsthand. Eggs are sold by the dozen directly on the farm and at a few local stores, with plans to expand availability to Kansas City supermarkets.
