About the Farm

Background

Denis, a middle school teacher with a background in biodynamic organic farming from Chilliwack, BC, and Andrea, an artist passionate about design and food, combined their dreams and skills to establish their own farm. After years of working together on Denis' family farm and participating in local farmer’s markets, they settled in Camrose, Alberta. In 2016, they purchased a 35-acre vegetable farm, now known as Grey Arrow Farm, bordering the Lyseng Reservoir. They have been cultivating their farm for eight seasons, providing sustainably grown vegetables to their community.

Practices

The farm employs all-natural methods, avoiding chemicals and fertilizers. Soil health is maintained through compost, cover crops, and organic preparations. Weeds are managed using mechanical cultivation, hoes, hands, tarps, and flames, while pest issues are addressed through crop rotation, row covers, and strategic planting. The farm is committed to growing clean, safe food and building healthy soil.

The Rest

Grey Arrow Farm offers a CSA program, an online farm store, and an internship program for aspiring market garden farmers. The farm also provides handmade artisan goods and other local products. They acknowledge their location on Treaty 6 territory and offer a Single Parent Scholarship, gifting four 12-week CSA subscriptions annually. Visitors can stay overnight in a cozy, cabin-style bunkhouse and participate in Garden Time shares to experience the farm firsthand.
