About the Farm

Background

The farm's roots trace back to the 1940s when William and Edna Hale began raising cattle and crops in Farmington, Missouri. In the 1990s, their son Ron Hale returned from the Navy and introduced organic produce, including his renowned 'pampered tomatoes'. Ron became active in regional organic and slow food movements, co-founding the Farmington Farmer’s Market. Now, in the 2020s, Ron's children are continuing the family legacy.

Practices

The farm adheres to environmentally responsible methods, avoiding synthetic chemicals on crops or pasture and ensuring livestock are not confined. This commitment reflects a broader philosophy of nurturing the land and producing clean, healthy food.

The Rest

The farm is part of the Known & Grown Farmers network, which includes farms within 150 miles of St. Louis. They are expanding their offerings to include wildflower honey and pasture-raised chicken eggs.
