About the Farm
Background
Originally operating from 2005 to 2007, this family-owned farm in Western Kentucky faced financial difficulties that led to its closure. Known for raising Spotted, Duroc, Chester White, and Crossbred hogs, as well as 11 breeds of chickens and several breeds of turkeys, all listed on the ALBC's Conservation List, the farm also had Black Angus X cattle. The family is working towards re-establishing their farm in the future.
Practices
The farm emphasized humane and sustainable practices in raising their livestock. Their approach included natural methods of animal husbandry and a commitment to the conservation of rare breeds. The farm's philosophy was rooted in hard work, integrity, and excellence, aiming to reflect these values in the quality of their products.
The Rest
The family plans to reintroduce pigs first, followed by dairy and beef cows, and eventually Cashmere goats and Finnsheep for both fiber and food. The farm aims to provide high-quality, farm-fresh products that bring the simplicity and raw goodness of farm life to their customers' dining tables.
