About the Farm
Background
The farm has dedicated itself to producing meat and poultry that harken back to a time before industrial farming took hold. By focusing on heritage breeds like British White and Murray Grey cattle, which have never adapted to the feedlot system, the farm ensures that its animals thrive on a natural diet. This commitment extends to their seasonal business of raising chickens and pigs, ensuring that these animals also benefit from a diet rich in grass and natural forage.
Practices
The farm employs holistic management practices to enhance land productivity, optimize water resources, and sequester carbon dioxide. Animals are raised without hormones, antibiotics, or steroids. Chickens and pigs are raised seasonally to ensure they have access to grass, with chickens moving to outdoor paddocks once they have feathers and pigs rooting in fields and woodlots. Cows and lambs graze on pesticide- and herbicide-free grass as long as it is available, switching to alfalfa baleage and hay during the winter. This approach not only promotes animal health but also aims to produce meat high in omega-3s and free from harmful chemicals.

Customers can purchase meat and poultry directly from the farm store or place orders online for UPS delivery. The farm store also offers seasonal produce, baked goods, and other dry goods from local producers. Additionally, the farm provides a Meat CSA with monthly shares available for pickup in NYC and the tri-state area.
