About the Farm
Background
Established in 1756, the farm has a long history of serving the community in Granby, CT. Known for its commitment to organic farming practices, it has become a staple in the local agricultural scene. The farm also hosts a Summer and Winter CSA, providing fresh produce to members and delivering shares to West Hartford.
Practices
The farm employs strict organic farming methods, avoiding the use of pesticides, herbicides, and GMOs. Instead, they rely solely on organic fertilizers to nourish their crops. This approach not only ensures healthier produce but also promotes soil health and biodiversity. The farm also encourages community involvement through volunteer opportunities and educational programs.
The Rest
Non-CSA members can shop at the Farm Store, which is open from mid-June to the end of October, Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 am to 6 pm. The farm also features a Pick Your Own patch for Summer CSA members, offering flowers, herbs, and more. Additionally, the farm supports local chefs and donates six tons of produce annually to those in need through its Fresh Access program. The farm's scenic trails and tree trail arboretum provide a beautiful backdrop for hiking and horseback riding.
