About the Farm

Background

Horner Farms, Inc. is a small, family-owned farm located in South Georgia. The farm currently cultivates 8 acres of blueberries and 6 acres of various fruits and vegetables. In the fall of 2009, they began a plant nursery, aiming for full production by spring 2010. The farm also offers a wide variety of daylilies, with over 350 different types available. Thedaylilystore.com, a division of Horner Farms, Inc., is managed by Connie Horner and her family, providing an extensive selection of daylilies and concrete statuary.

Practices

The farm adheres to Certified Organic practices, ensuring that all produce is grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers. They maintain a strict spray schedule to manage pests and diseases, although weather conditions can sometimes interfere with this regimen. The farm's commitment to organic farming reflects a dedication to both environmental health and the well-being of their customers.

The Rest

Visitors are welcome to the farm, which is open Fridays and Saturdays from March to Christmas, and six days a week from April to June. The farm also features an expanded range of concrete statuary, including fountains, bird baths, and planters. For those unable to visit in person, thedaylilystore.com offers an online selection of their daylilies and other products. It is recommended to call ahead if traveling a great distance to ensure the daylily garden is open, as chemical applications may occasionally require temporary closures.
