About the Farm
Background
The farm has been family-owned and operated since 1910, currently run by Tracy Hunter and his wife Chris. Over the years, it has become known for its pure and natural honey, as well as a wide range of honey-based products. The family has a deep connection to the land and community, with Tracy being a retired educator and an elder at the Eastview Christian Church, and Chris a retired middle school family and consumer science teacher.
Practices
The farm keeps its honey as pure and natural as possible, never pasteurizing or filtering it. This ensures that customers receive the finest and most flavorful honey. The farm also manages 65 acres of hardwood timber and over 4,000 Christmas trees. Their practices emphasize the importance of maintaining the natural qualities of their products and the health of their land.
The Rest
The farm offers a variety of products including varietal honeys, honeycomb, pollen, royal jelly, beeswax candles, and a range of honey-based foods and skincare items. Visitors can purchase these items online or at the on-farm gift shop. Group tours are available, featuring honey tasting, beekeeping discussions, candle making demonstrations, and seasonal honey extracting and bottling. The farm also sells honey wholesale and retail, and invites visitors to experience their operations firsthand.
