About the Farm

Background

Dennis Barron, originally from Alpharetta, GA, established Indian Creek Angus in 1995 in Franklin County, GA. Dennis, a third-generation cattleman, has been involved in cattle farming since his youth. The farm transitioned to organic practices in 2009, raising Certified Naturally Grown Grass Fed Beef. Dennis's oldest son, Denny Barron, joined the business in 2010, while his daughter, Laura Barron McCook, came on board in 2013. The farm honors the memory of Dennis’s youngest son, Josh Barron, who passed away in 2016.

Practices

Cattle at Indian Creek Angus are raised humanely in a natural, low-stress environment without growth hormones, steroids, or antibiotics. The cattle graze on the rich grasses of Northeast Georgia and are supplemented with locally grown, pesticide-free hay during the winter. The farm's herd includes Angus, Hereford, Charolais, and Murray Grey breeds. The beef is dry-aged for 14 to 21 days to enhance flavor and tenderness, a process that is more labor-intensive and costly but results in superior quality meat.

The Rest

Indian Creek Angus partners with a USDA Certified processor for beef processing. The farm invites visitors to explore its 340-acre property, located an hour from Atlanta, to see the green pastures and learn about the benefits of 100% Grass Fed Beef. The farm is the oldest producing Grass Fed Pastured Beef Farm in the area and aims to provide top-quality beef to families throughout North Georgia.
