About the Farm
Background
Located in the Hudson Valley of New York, Kinderhook Farm spans several hundred acres of pastures and hay meadows. Known for raising beef cattle and sheep, the farm has established itself as a source of high-quality, pasture-raised meats.
Practices
The farm employs a grass-fed pasture system, ensuring that cattle and sheep consume a diet of grass and legumes without grain, antibiotics, growth hormones, or animal by-products. Animals are born and raised on the farm, grazing on the natural forages available in the fields. Excess hay is harvested during the summer and used as winter feed. Animal waste is recycled back into the land, enriching the soil for future grass cycles.
The Rest
The Kinderhook Farm Store offers individually packaged cuts of pasture-raised, grass-finished beef and lamb, as well as farm-fresh pasture eggs. Freedom Ranger meat chickens are also raised seasonally. The store is open daily, though visitors are encouraged to call ahead to ensure someone is available to meet them.
