About the Farm
Background
Ken Drinnon, a Tennessee native raised on a small dairy farm, founded the farm after returning to his home state in 1993. Initially seeking to escape farm life, Ken joined the service and later became a fireman in Los Angeles. Upon retirement, he returned to Tennessee to be closer to family and started raising cattle. The farm has been in operation for nearly 25 years, located on 82 acres in Ashland City, Tennessee, with an additional 60 acres leased for cattle to roam.
Practices
The farm raises Tennessee cattle with no steroids, growth hormones, or antibiotics. The cattle are free to roam the farm with access to clean water, natural grass, and hay. They are grass-fed and grain-finished to ensure superior quality beef with a heartier, richer taste. The beef is dry-aged for 14-18 days to enhance tenderness and flavor. All beef is USDA-inspected, and the farm guarantees satisfaction.
The Rest
The farm sells its products at the Nashville Farmers' Market on weekends and by appointment from the farm. They also sell wholesale to restaurants and a butcher shop in Nashville. Partnering with local farmers, the farm sources pork from Detweiler Meats in Kentucky, chicken from Miller Poultry, and eggs from Kentucky Farm Fresh, a group of Amish farmers. Several Nashville establishments serve the farm's meats, including Porter Road Butcher, Green Door Gourmet, and Henrietta Red. Customers can pre-order through the farm's website.
