About the Farm
Background
Founded with a mission to plant today for our children's tomorrow, this farm has been a family and community endeavor. Since 1998, they have operated a CSA, providing fresh, organically grown produce to health-conscious families and individuals who value knowing the origins and methods behind their food.
Practices
The farm employs beyond organic methods, preparing soils with zero synthetic inputs and using sustainable amendments like compost and cover crops. Seeds are planted in healthy soil with clean water, and no artificial inputs are used throughout the growing process. The farm avoids even organically approved pesticides and herbicides, instead fostering wild habitats for beneficial insects, wildlife, and rich biodiversity.
The Rest
The farm offers a wide variety of produce, herbs, and specialty items including garlic, tomatoes, basil, carrots, onions, squash, heirloom tomatoes, peppers, lettuces, microgreens, kale, arugula, Swiss chard, green beans, ginger, radishes, peas, beets, and okra. They sell potted herb plants and vegetable seedlings during the spring months. Customers can purchase products at the farm, through pre-orders, or at various farmers markets in Indiana and Chicago. The farm also operates a CSA, with more information available on their website and Facebook page.
