About the Farm

Background

Located in the lower Michigan Thumb, this small family farm has been dedicated to sustainable and organic farming practices. Over the years, they have expanded their offerings to include Soy-Free, Non-GMO eggs from heritage breed laying hens, pastured broiler chickens and turkeys, woodland pastured pork, and are in the process of building a herd of 100% grass-fed Hereford cattle for rotationally pastured beef.

Practices

The farm employs rotational pasturing and intensive grazing methods inspired by Joel Salatin of Polyface Farms. These practices are designed to naturally improve the soil and pastures. They hatch and raise replacements for their laying hens on the farm, and raise extra roosters on pasture for heritage roasting chickens. All farming methods are sustainable and organic, focusing on enhancing soil health and pasture quality.

The Rest

In addition to their regular offerings, the farm sells hatching eggs in the Spring, and occasionally offers chicks, young pullets, or roosters for sale.
