About the Farm
Background
Since 1950, this fifth-generation family farm has been a part of nearly every major public lands victory. Known for their commitment to ethical and sustainable farming, they have built a reputation for providing high-quality, pasture-raised products.
Practices
The farm employs regenerative agricultural processes and pasture-based production to promote healthier land, animals, and community. Heritage breed pigs are raised in forested areas and woodlots with old apple orchards, moved to new paddocks every 7-12 days. Pasture chickens are raised in Salatin-style chicken tractors, moved twice daily, while turkeys are kept in portable houses with electric fences and moved weekly. Egg-laying hens enjoy fresh grass and bugs, moved to new pastures every 7 days. All animals are fed non-GMO feed.
The Rest
Customers can pick up products at the farm or at weekly drop spots. The farm offers a CSA option for broilers and encourages customers to sign up for their monthly newsletter for updates. The farm emphasizes the importance of knowing one's farmer and the transparency of the food system, echoing the philosophy of Joel Salatin.
