About the Farm
Background
Since 1983, herbs have been raised near the St. Johns River, attracting novice and master gardeners, chefs, home cooks, and gift givers. The farm is owned and operated by Dora Baker, a trained medicinal herbalist, who also supplies local restaurants and offers garden design and installation services.
Practices
No pesticides are used on the farm, and herbs and edible flowers are grown in greenhouses. The farm emphasizes the cultivation of unusual varieties of fruit and herb plants, ensuring a diverse and healthy ecosystem.
The Rest
Visitors can join the anniversary celebration in May, featuring music, herb foods, tinctures, soaps, teas, and garden clothing. The farm offers classes and workshops on the multiple uses of herbs, and handmade pottery is available for creative and edible dish gardens. The nursery is open to the public, and the farm hosts special programs for various community groups.
