About the Farm

Background

Located near Capitol Reef National Park, Mesa Farm has become a local staple, known for its artisan breads baked in a wood-fired stone oven and its cheese made from goat milk. The farm also supplies fresh produce to tourists, local restaurants, and the community.

Practices

Operating on 50 acres, the farm utilizes 40 acres of flash flood river bottom to provide browse for 25 goats. The remaining land includes 60 fruit trees and four acres dedicated to rotational pasture and vegetable gardening. Their commitment to sustainable agriculture is evident in their integrated approach to land use and animal husbandry.

The Rest

Visitors can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere, sampling fresh bread, cheese, and vegetables while watching goats in the pasture. The farm offers a unique, laid-back dining experience, providing cutting boards, utensils, and high-quality food rather than a full-service restaurant setup. The storefront is open for lunch from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Thursday through Monday.
