About the Farm
Background
Milky Ranch is a family-oriented operation dedicated to preserving the family farm and ranching way of life. Known for their Angus/Hereford cross herd, the ranch has established itself as a responsible and profitable business in the livestock industry.
Practices
Combining old and new practices, the ranch ensures that cattle graze on native grasses and browse such as blue grama, black grama, sacaton, needle and thread, rice grass, gaeta, chamisa, and white sage. The cattle are raised without growth supplements, steroids, hormones, or antibiotics. Although not certified organic, their practices align with organic standards. When ready for harvest, animals are processed locally at a facility inspected by the Arizona Department of Agriculture, using humane slaughtering procedures. The beef is dry-aged for seven days before being packaged and hard-frozen.
The Rest
Milky Ranch offers individual cuts as well as whole, half, and quarters of beef, delivering to the Show Low / Pinetop area.
