About the Farm
Background
With a long family tradition of farming, the business was established in 2002 by third-generation Connecticut farmers. Since then, it has been providing the area with easy access to higher quality beef.
Practices
Cows are raised humanely on lush green pastures, which are rotated regularly. They dine on grass and hay, receiving no hormones or antibiotics. The beef is raised slowly and naturally, resulting in lean and flavorful meat. The farm employs responsible animal husbandry and sustainable farming practices, including frequent pasture rotation and using local businesses to dress and package the meat.
The Rest
The farm also offers firewood that is stacked on site and seasoned for at least three years before being cut for sale. Custom orders for lengths and delivery are available on request. Buying a half side or whole cow is economical, with prices including butchering. The beef is nutritionally superior, being lower in total fat and higher in heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids, conjugated linoleic acid, and antioxidant vitamins.
